WVWC XC teams run at Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The West Virginia Wesleyan cross country team ran in the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 25) at the West Branch Cross Country Course.

The men’s team finished 14th out of 20 competing teams and the women finished 16th out of 22 competing teams. 
 
On the men’s side, Evan Pyles was the top finisher recording a time of 26:29. Pyles took home 59th out of 289 individual competitors. 11 spots behind Pyles was Jacob Defibaugh who crossed the line in 26:48. Anthony Sanders took home 119th with a finishing time of 27:39. Rounding out the scoring for the Bobcats was Elijah Hannig (28:15) and Cole Bracken (28:37) finishing in 149th and 164th respectively. 
 
The women ran a 6K course with senior Tori Carr (22:57) leading the way for the Bobcats. Carr finished 34th out of 249 competitors. Freshman Leigha Hall took home 80th with a finishing time of 24:08. Lauren Chickosky finished 28 seconds behind Hall and took home 101st. Rounding out the scoring was Alexis Imperial (25:03) and Alexa Gorondy (25:36).
 
The ‘Cats will be back in action Saturday, October 2nd at the Muskingum Invitational in New Concord, Ohio.
