WVWC announces annual Lady Bobcat softball clinic for Feb. 3

BUCKHANNON — One of the most historically successful softball programs in West Virginia will hold its annual clinic on Saturday, Feb. 3 as announced by West Virginia Wesleyan head coach Steve Warner.

The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include plenty of instruction for individuals in grades 5-12 that includes:
Hitting Concepts & Drills
Defense Drills/Baserunning/Bunting
Infield/Outfield Work
Catching Instruction
Pitching Instruction

The clinic will be directed by head coach Steve Warner who is entering his 33rd season with the Lady Bobcats and has an all-time coaching record of 1178-443-2. Under Warner’s direction Wesleyan has garnered 22 conference titles and in 2017, he led the first team in school history to make it to the Division II College World Series.

The clinic also includes instruction by assistant coach Vickie Rohr (WVWC ’17) who works with pitchers, Nick Grotti (WVWC ’22) who is in his third season assisting the Lady Bobcats’ field players, Bob Allen who has 27 years of coaching experience combined (Wesleyan and West Virginia State) and Brooke Clark who was a four-year middle infielder starter at Wesleyan.
