WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital to expand healthcare services in Elkins area

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital announced that it will be expanding services in the Elkins area. 

The hospital currently provides podiatry care in Elkins with Addison Michael, DPM and Bonnie Blackburn, PA-C. Additional providers will offer healthcare in General Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Surgical care will include general and laparoscopic surgery, upper and lower endoscopy, breast, colon and skin cancer; hernia repair, thyroid issues, hemorrhoids and anorectal disease.  Surgeries will be performed at St. Joseph’s Hospital with pre and post-surgical services provided in Elkins.        

Obstetrical and Gynecological care with be provided for women from adolescence through menopause and beyond. They will offer obstetrical, gynecological and midwifery care. Babies will be delivered at St. Joseph’s Hospital which has been honored by the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership for its high level of care for pregnant women and babies. 

These additional services will help to ensure the people of Randolph and surrounding counties have access to the care they need and will begin mid-summer.
