WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital recognizes National Administrative Professionals Day

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing its administrative staff on April 26 for National Administrative Professionals Day.

Administrative professionals are key to ensuring that an organization runs efficiently.  Their work includes a wide variety of duties including office management, clerical work, data entry, and record maintenance.  In the hospital setting, they are also tasked with understanding the ever-changing world of healthcare and being well versed in medical terminology.

National Administrative Professionals Day was first observed in 1942, when the National Secretaries Association was formed to recognize the contributions of administrative personnel to the economy.  The day is observed annually on the Wednesday of the last full week in April.
