BUCKHANNON — Several closings have been announced for Tuesday, January 16, due to winter weather affecting Upshur County. This list will be updated as new information becomes available.

  • The Upshur County Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening, January 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. has been canceled due to inclement weather. It is rescheduled for January 23, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at Buckhannon Upshur High School. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Due to the current winter weather event, the City of Buckhannon’s Planning Commission meeting scheduled for today has been canceled. Please mark your calendar for the rescheduled meeting date of Monday, February 5, 2024, at 7 p.m. Stay safe and warm!
  • Due to the current winter weather event, Tuesday’s Housing Enforcement Board meeting has been canceled. Please mark your calendar for the next scheduled meeting date on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 5:30 pm. Stay safe and warm!
  • Upshur County Schools are closed Tuesday, January 16.
  • Fred Eberle Technical Center is closed Tuesday, January 16.
  • Update: West Virginia Wesleyan College will be closed Tuesday.
  • The Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to inclement weather. They will reopen Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. Stay safe and warm!
  • The Upshur Parish House will be closed on Tuesday, January 16 due to weather.
