The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Sunday that 314 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Mountain State.
Locally, new cases were reported in Upshur (2), Barbour (3), Lewis (1), Randolph (3) and Webster (1) counties.
A total of 29 cases are currently active in Upshur County, according to the DHHR.
Four additional deaths have been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR – a 63-year old male from Raleigh County, a 43-year old male from Raleigh County, a 73-year old female from Raleigh County and a 78-year old female from Kanawha County.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of April 25, 2021, there have been 2,673,838 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 151,382 total cases and 2,821 total deaths,” according to a press release.
About 7,157 West Virginia cases remain active, according DHHR data. Of the cases that are no longer active, 141,404 people have recovered and 2,821 have died. The daily percent positive was 3.76%.
A total of 557,644 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said.
