The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Tuesday that 1,905 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in the Mountain State. That’s a decrease of 100 since the last report.
Locally, reported active case totals are: Upshur (26), Barbour (14), Lewis (34), Randolph (25) and Webster (6) counties. In Upshur County, that’s a decrease of five active cases since last Thursday.
One additional death has been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR – a 79-year old female from Berkeley County.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of June 21, 2022, there are currently 1,905 active COVID-19 cases statewide. There has been one death reported since the last report, with a total of 7,018 deaths attributed to COVID-19,” according to a press release.
About 184 residents are hospitalized with the virus, with 26 currently in intensive care and four on a ventilator. The daily percent positive was 12.11%.
About 55% of the state has been vaccinated for COVID-19.
