Wesleyan volleyball drops 3-1 decision to West Liberty

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady BobcatvVolleyball team, after falling to Wheeling University on Friday night, was looking to get back on track with a conference win against West Liberty University Saturday morning.

A tough match was played, with score differentials of all four sets being five points or less. Wesleyan won set two 25-20, but lost sets one, three, and four.

Wesleyan’s hitting percentage was 7% compared to the West Liberty’s 17.3%. Team stat comparisons show a tightly fought match with both teaming recording 10 total blocks, Wesleyan would have double the amount of serving aces with 12, and Wesleyan with 66 points compared to West Liberty’s 64.

Notable players for the Lady Bobcats include Olivia Albrecht, leading in kills with 13. Sophomore Bhrooke Axe followed with 10 kills and led the team in blocks with six. Libero Alexis Moeschler led the team in digs with 23 as well as three assists and serving aces. Helena Kelley led the team with five aces and seveb digs on the day. Setter Jalynn West recorded 34 assists along with 10 digs.

The Lady Bobcats will travel on the road to play Frostburg State Friday, Oct. 25th at 7 p.m.
