Wesleyan softball releases 2022 schedule

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan softball team and head coach Steve Warner announced its 2022 schedule. The Lady Bobcats are scheduled to play 20 games at Culpepper Field.
 
The Lady Bobcats will begin the season playing in the Glenville State Round Robin from Feb. 26-27. WVWC is scheduled to face Shepherd, Lock Haven, Indiana (Pa.) and Clarion at GSC.
 
Wesleyan will head to the Sunshine State for spring break from March 5-12. The Lady ‘Cats are slated to play 13 games in seven days at Florida.
 
WVWC will return from Florida and open Mountain East Conference competition at home versus Fairmont State on March 19. Frostburg State will visit Culpepper Field on March 20 to conclude the first weekend of conference play.
 
The Lady Bobcats have three midweek doubleheaders on the schedule. Salem is scheduled to play Wesleyan in Buckhannon on March 24 for a twin-bill. WVWC will travel to Shepherd on March 29 and Salem on April 13 for nonconference doubleheaders.
 
Wesleyan’s first MEC road trip features doubleheaders versus Glenville State on March 26 and Concord on March 27. The regular season will conclude on the weekend of April 29-30, where the Lady ‘Cats will welcome Concord and Glenville State to Buckhannon.
 
The top four teams in each division will qualify for the MEC Tournament, which will be held from May 6-8 at James I. Moyer Complex in Salem, Va.
