Wesleyan men’s soccer draws Concord on the road in first-round of MEC Tournament

BRIDGEPORT – The Mountain East Conference announced seeds and matchups for the 2023 Men’s Soccer Tournament following the competition of the regular season on Wednesday evening.

Charleston (13-1) repeated as the MEC Regular Season Champions with 39 points in league play and will be the tournament’s top overall seed. Notre Dame (8-2-4) finished the season with 28 points and also receives a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed. Both teams will host semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Davis & Elkins is the No. 3 seed with 23 points and will host one quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon, while Concord (19 points) earned the No. 4 seed to host the second quarterfinal. West Virginia Wesleyan (18 points) and West Liberty (16 points) rounded out the tournament field as the fifth and sixth seed, respectively.

Sunday’s quarterfinal matchups include Davis & Elkins hosting West Liberty at 3 p.m., and West Virginia Wesleyan traveling to Concord at 4 p.m.
