Wesleyan men lose close one at Salem, 86-82

SALEM — West Virginia Wesleyan College went on the road to Salem University in a close game that resulted in an 86-82 loss, Saturday afternoon.

Five players scored in double digits for the Bobcats. Team scoring leader (and fifth in the Mountain East Conference) Deiker Padrino dropped 24 points on 6-of-14 from the field, 5-of-9 from beyond three and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line.

Craven Jr., Anthony added 17 points, Curtis Litton had 16 points, Alex Mirhosseini (11th place in scoring in the MEC) scored 12 points and had nine rebounds, and Maxwell Harris scored 11 points and had eight rebounds.

Salem’s game high-scorer Jack Garrison IV had 25 points while teammates Kapone Barley added 19 points and Ashraf Tchadouwa had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bobcats face Wheeling University Wednesday, Feb. 7 in Wheeling for a 7:30 p.m. start.
