Volleyball Lady Bucs split tri-outing with Bridgeport and North Marion

BRIDGEPORT – It was a tale of two totally different games for the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc volleyball team in a tri-outing Wednesday in pair of Big 10 Conference clashes.

The Lady Bucs dropped a 2-0 decision to perennial power Bridgeport, 25-22, 25-15, but returned the favor to North Marion, sweeping them by 25-16 and 25-15 scores.

The action left head coach Ashley Stanton’s team at .500 with a 5-5 mark.

Against Bridgeport, the Lady Bucs managed just three aces with Tori Perkins getting two and Meghan Bailey one.

Kendall Currence led the team in kills with four while Bailey paced the squad in assists with five.

Caroline Frye led the team in digs with seven.

In their outing with North Marion, the Lady Bucs were sending aces all over the court serving up 17.

Bailey collected six aces while Frye had five, Currence four and Candice Ringer two.

Currence led the team again with eight kills while Bailey paced the squad in assists with 21.

Ringer had a team-high eight digs in the win.

The Lady Bucs were slated to visit Elkins Thursday night.

They will return to action on Wednesday at East Fairmont.
