Volleyball Lady Bucs fall in four sets to Gilmer County

GLENVILLE – The Buckhannon-Upshur volleyball Lady Bucs dropped a hard-fought 3-1 road decision on Monday to the Gilmer County Titans.

The Lady Bucs dropped a pair of close sets early on falling 25-19 and 25-22 in sets one and two.

They rebounded to take set three by a 25-17 score but dropped a 25-17 fourth set.

Buckhannon-Upshur served up 11 aces against Gilmer County with Cadence Ringer leading the way with three.

Caroline Frye led the team in kills with 11 while Ringer had 10. Meghan Bailey had a team-high 31 assists.

Kendal Currence and Frye each paced the team in digs with 24 while Tori Perkins has 22. Currence had four of the five B-U blocks against Gilmer County.

The setback left the Lady Bucs with a 13-11 record heading into Wednesday’s outing at Lewis County.
