KERENS – Fans, drivers and pit crews gathered Saturday, July 2 for another evening of regular racing at Elkins Raceway. As the season is speeding by, races continue to heat up and the competition continues to be fierce. As the green flag fell, the upcoming checkered flag was all that mattered then.

Saturday’s feature race winners are as follows:

  • Younger Mini Wedges – Nelson Herron
  • Older Mini Wedges – Brad Currence
  • Super Lates – Shane Hitt
  • Crates – Tyler Parrish
  • Modifieds – Nate Young
  • Street Stock – Kevin Keene
  • Hot Mods – Daniel Helmick

Mark your calendars for next Saturday, July 9 for more regular racing and bicycle races for children. Weather permitting, children ages eleven and under are invited to bring their own bicycles to the track to put their own speed to the test. Participants will be divided into age groups at the start of regular intermission. All participants MUST have a helmet to participate. Older children will have the opportunity to pedal a full lap around the dirt track while the smaller children will race a shorter distance. First, second and third place winners of each age group will receive a trophy.
