Upshur Senior Center, American Legion Post 7 to host outreach from VA Hospital in Clarksburg on Wednesday

BUCKHANNON — On Wednesday, September 13 the Upshur County Senior Center and American Legion Post 7 will be hosting a variety of offices from the VA Hospital in Clarksburg.

This will be a PACT ACT OUTREACH PROGRAM, which has many various parts to it, and these experts will be able to help people both understand it as well as navigate their way through it.

The VA enrollment office will be there to not just enroll people but if needed produce VA Photo ID cards to include renewing ID cards.

The VA travel office will be present to help veterans with their transportation to their VA appointments.

The C&P (compensation and pension) clerk and provider will be present. They will have a lot of information to hand out and will provide explanations about the issue and give guidance. This office will be able to assist with the Burn Pit Registry, environmental exams, as well as the new Toxic Exposure Screening.

This is a chance to get answers to your questions from highly qualified personnel who can assist you in accessing various portions of the VA Health and Compensation system.

These VA personnel will be at the Senior Center from 9 AM-3 PM.

The next upcoming event for Patriot Week will be your opportunity to file compensation claims with the VA as well as a variety of other things and will include assisting surviving spouses. Watch for more details. If you have any questions, you can contact the American Legion at 304-460-7377.
