Upshur County students graduate from Glenville State College

GLENVILLE – Two Upshur County students have received their degrees from Glenville State College as part of the College’s May Commencement ceremony.

Brian Carson of Buckhannon graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management with a concentration in Land Surveying Technology.

Hannah Guthrie of Rock Cave earned an Associate in Arts degree in General Studies as a part of GSC’s Milestone Initiative. The Milestone Initiative signifies the important academic accomplishment of students who are working toward a bachelor’s degree.

Founded in 1872, Glenville State College is a public liberal arts college located in Glenville, West Virginia. The college offers a variety of traditional and online degree programs and several NCAA Division II athletic teams.

Track and Field Lady Bucs run eighth at Bridgeport

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Lady Bucs wrapped up the regular season with an eighth-place finish (40 points) at the Harry Green Invitational in Bridgeport. Rylen Carlye led the way with four top-five finishes, and the 4×800 relay posted the team’s best relay mark.
