Upshur County Schools announces summer food service program opportunity

BUCKHANNON — Upshur County children 18 years of age and younger are eligible to receive five-day meal packs through the Summer Feeding program. The shelf-stable boxes will be prepared by Multitude Foods and delivered via FedEx to the child’s home.

Families interested in receiving food boxes for their children can visit www.upshurschools.com to complete an interest form.

Mr. Eddie Vincent, Director of Child Nutrition, shares, “We are excited to offer the five-day meal boxes to the children of Upshur County. The “Keep Kids Fed Act of 2022” has extended the pandemic response for summer meal programs, which will allow food boxes to be delivered to the homes of children. Meals will begin as early as July 18 and will be provided through August 12. We encourage our families to sign up for this opportunity.”

For more information about the Summer Food Service Program, please call the Upshur County Board of Education Child Nutrition office at 304-472-5480.
