Upshur County Assessor’s Office seeking applicants for full-time appraiser position

REQUEST FOR APPLICANTS: FULL TIME APPRAISER, UPSHUR COUNTY ASSESSOR’S OFFICE

The Upshur County Assessor’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time appraiser for tax purposes.

Qualifications: Experience in appraising and/or real estate is desirable, but not required. Must have general knowledge of Upshur County, be able to meet and speak with property owners in a professional manner and have good communication skills.  Must have basic computer skills and be willing to take classes to meet State requirements.  Duties include, but are not limited to: listing property on appraisal system for tax purposes, conducting field reviews door to door on a daily basis, becoming familiar with income approach to value, setting land tables for value and conducting sales ratio study.

  • A background check will be conducted
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Working hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Starting salary based on experience
