BUCKHANNON – The Upshur County Assessor’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time deputy clerk.

Qualifications: Must have general knowledge of Upshur County, be able to meet and speak with taxpayers in a professional manner, and have good communication/organizational skills. Must have basic computer skills and be willing to take classes to meet state requirements. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting taxpayers daily, collecting and inputting commercial/personal property tax returns, processing farm census applications, and filing/reviewing homestead applications.

  • A background check will be conducted
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Working hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • Starting salary based on experience
