Tygart Valley Little League Wins Allegheny Insurance’s Match Donation A Second Time

Elkins, WV (August 12, 2019) – Tygart Valley Little League took advantage of Allegheny Insurance Services Inc.’s match donation program, “Keep the Change,” once again.
This long-time program begins with a bottle water donation from Allegheny Insurance to local non-profit organizations who then sell the bottled water at events throughout the year. Additionally, the groups are encouraged to promote the “Keep the Change” initiative, a unique pay-it-forward concept in which purchasers keep their water bottle and use it as a goodwill piggy bank. Purchasers collect spare change until the bottle is full and return it to the organization who sold it or donate to the charity of their choice.

For the second quarter of the year, April until June, Tygart Valley Little League raised the most funds. The group raised $1,000 and Allegheny Insurance has written a check for the same amount. Now, the little leaguers will be able to purchase uniforms, equipment, field and organize building maintenance, for over 100 youth who participate in their program.

“Allegheny’s ‘Keep the Change’ program is well known in the area and parents agree that it’s much easier to collect spare change than it is to sell donuts or some other fundraising item,” said Michele Wamsley, Tygart Valley Little League Board Member. “We also partner with Mill Creek IGA and Bob’s Mini Mart who displayed our goal and a bottle for people to drop dimes in.”
