Two injured in Monday motorcycle wreck released from the hospital

FRENCH CREEK – Two individuals were life-flighted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after being injured in a motorcycle versus deer wreck Monday night on Beechtown Road.

According to investigating officer Cpl. T.A. Menendez with the Buckhannon detachment of the West Virginia State Police, Charles Snow Cutright, 21, of French Creek, and Kesia Kelley, 20, of Buckhannon wrecked after a large deer jumped in front of the 1996 Hondo motorcycle they were riding. Cutright was the driver, and Kelley was the passenger, Menendez said.

“I talked to several people who had been watching them go around that loop [on Beechtown Road], and no one said they were going too fast, so speed wasn’t a factor,” Menendez said. “A big deer just jumped right out in front of them.”

Cutright and Kelley had severe cases of road rash, he said. The deer perished in the accident.

The two patients had been released as of Wednesday, according to a spokeswoman with WVU Medicine.
