BUCKHANNON — Two black bears were spotted on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College early Friday morning, according to an email from the college’s Office of Campus Safety and Security.

“The Office of Campus Safety and Security has been made aware of two black bears on or near campus,” the email reads. “One was spotted at the dumpster behind Benedum Campus Center and another close to the Riverwalk Trail.

“The City of Buckhannon and The Department of Natural Resources are aware and are closely monitoring the situation. They advise that you not approach or interfere with the bears and that they mean you no harm.”
