This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Taiwo Thropp and Madelyn Frye

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur that has had an exemplary week on the baseball or softball diamond, the lacrosse field, the tennis courts or the track.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of May 1– May 7 are Taiwo Thropp and Madelyn Frye.

Thropp is a senior on the Buccaneer track and field team.

Thropp earned high point honors for the Bucs in the Big 10 Conference track and field championships.He took first place in the 400-meter dash (49.61) and was part of the first place 4×400-meter relay team (3:31.18). He took second place in the 100-meter dash (11.02) and the 200-meter dash (22.25).

Frye is a senior on the Buckhannon-Upshur tennis team.

At the Region I Tournament in singles action, Frye won her opening match with an 8-6 win over John Marshall’s Faith Wachter. She also picked up a first-round doubles win with teammate Mya Critchfield with an 8-1 victory over Alexis Wuchner and Cate O’Neill from B-U.
