Tennis Bucs tumble to University, 7-0

BUCKHANNON– The young Buckhannon-Upshur tennis Buccaneers had the daunting task of meeting up with regional foe University again for the second time in a six-day span.

The Bucs just were not able to keep up with the Hawks falling by a 7-0 score.

“It’s tough playing such a solid team like University twice in less than a week but our kids took it in stride and fought for every point on the courts,” remarked Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Rock. “Bradly Helmick and Tommy Swift got the lone game for us. They are our best doubles team in terms of positioning and moving and it pays off in their scores.”

The Bucs did not play Philip Barbour on Tuesday as the Colts don’t have a boys’ team this spring.

The Bucs, now 0-6 on the season, will be back in action Thursday on the road against Bridgeport for a 4 p.m. outing.
