Summer Basketball League ends regular season with two unbeaten teams

TENNERTON – The Upshur County Summer Basketball League wrapped up their regular season on Monday and Tuesday with seven games.

Monday opened with Dairy Queen beating AMTC by a 65-52 score with Cole Whited leading Dairy Queen with 23 points while Garrett Jones led AMTC with 12.

The second game saw Ralph’s Furniture down The Outpost by a 66-59 count with Brett Morris scoring a game-high 28 points for Ralph’s Furniture and Bryson Lucas leading The Outpost with 26 points.

Ralph’s Furniture made it 2-0 on the night winning a 71-53 contest against Sam’s Pizza as Adrian Summerfield tallied 21 points for Ralph’s Furniture and Jaden Westfall scored a team-high 20 points for Sam’s Pizza.

Tuesday’s opener had CPImagery beating Dairy Queen by a 77-55 score as Storm Workman scored 17 points for CPImagery and Austin Upton scored a game-high 27 points for Dairy Queen.

Game two saw CEC defeat AMTC by an 88-58 count as Jaycob Smith had 23 points for CEC and Jordan Hall put in 17 points for AMTC.

The third game was The Outpost defeating KBAM Builders by a 58-52 score with Isaac Walker scoring 20 points for The Outpost and Jaydn Stewart scoring 14 points for KBAM Builders.

The final contest on Tuesday had On Point Athletics downing CEC by a 63-58 count. Ryan Hurst and Dalton Hamrick each scored 14 points for On Point Athletics and Jacob Corder had a game-high 15 points for CEC.

Ralph’s Furniture won Division I with a perfect 7-0 record while On Point Athletics claimed Division 2 with a 7-0 record.

The postseason tournament was scheduled to get underway this past Wednesday and will run until the championship game next Tuesday.
