Upshur County 911 Assistant Director Kimbra Wachob was named WV CIT Dispatcher of the Year for her compassionate crisis response and statewide training leadership. Her work has strengthened how dispatchers handle behavioral health emergencies across West Virginia.

Feed My Sheep is staying put, at least for now, after contacting an attorney over demands from the WV Pentecostal Church that they vacate their property on Brushy Fork. The organization serves more than 40,000 people annually through food giveaways and other community programs.

A man was arrested after he was allegedly found sleeping on the couch in a residence after being told he was not permitted there. He also allegedly took a watch from the home.

Residents who lived or worked in Lewis, Upshur, Ritchie or Pleasants counties during the July 21 storms may qualify for D-SNAP food benefits. Applications will be accepted Sept. 21-25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at designated county sites.
