Upshur County Schools continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic response in West Virginia, which includes close collaboration with the WVDE and local agencies. The updated weekly County/School Alert System map shows Upshur County as green, indicating minimal community spread.
Green means that Upshur County can continue in-person learning and extracurricular activities.
Upshur County Schools recognizes that this is good news, and we thank our families for their continued diligence in responding to this public health pandemic. But the district reminds it families that the situation remains ever-changing.
“Upshur County did a tremendous job of coming together after a week with many new cases and our residents appear to have slowed the spread. Thank you!” said Dr. Sara Lewis-Stankus, superintendent. “We are not out of the woods yet, so let’s stay disciplined and vigilant, so that we can keep our students in school in-person.
“Our goal, at the end of the nine weeks, is to have our students back in school five days a week. Our students deserve this opportunity. Let’s stay Upshur Strong!”
