State Police release information on Braxton County school threat

The West Virginia State Police say a juvenile was responsible for a non-viable threat made against Braxton County High School this week.

“On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at approximately 8 a.m., the West Virginia State Police received a call regarding a school threat,” according to a press release issued Tuesday evening. “Initial information was received that a juvenile was possibly making threats toward individuals at the Braxton County High School.

“The State Police, along with assistance from the Braxton County Sheriff’s Department, was able to ascertain and verify that no viable threat had been made to the school. The juvenile responsible for the incident was located, detained and is currently being held in a secure holding facility on unrelated charges. “
