St. Joseph’s Outpatient Infusion Center provides infusion therapy close to home

Buckhannon, W.Va. – St. Joseph’s Outpatient Infusion Center offers infusion services close to home. Located on the first floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital, the infusion center treats patients who need a variety of infusions including intravenous medications, blood transfusions, biotherapy drugs, and long-course IV antibiotic therapy. The center also provides care and maintenance of central venous access devices, like implanted infusion ports and PICC lines.

The center is staffed by Registered Nurses who are specially trained in managing intravenous infusions. Infusion medications are compounded in St. Joseph’s Hospital Pharmacy in a new state-of-the-art clean room.  Equipped with the most advanced in technical air systems, it allows pharmacy staff to compound sterile medications needed for chemotherapy, rheumatology, antibiotics, fluid replacement, Crohn’s disease and many other diseases requiring infusion.
