BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – St. Joseph’s Hospital provided a “Drive-By” recognition for the residents of its Nursing Care Facility.

Residents were lined up on the sidewalk behind an office building and family members and friends were able to drive by, wave signs and see their loved ones.  Fifteen residents participated and about 100 family members and friends drove by.

“This was a great opportunity for our residents,” said Whitney Burnside, RN, Manager of St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Care Facility.  “They have not been able to see their families or friends for almost three months.  Families even came in for the event from out-of-state and many drove by several times. It was truly heart-warming for them, as for all the staff who have been working hard to keep their spirits up during this difficult time.”
