St. Joseph’s Hospital president named 2019 Grassroots Champion

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Skip Gjolberg, President of St. Joseph’s Hospital of Buckhannon, has been awarded the 2019 Grassroots Champion Award by the American Hospital Association. He received this special recognition through his dedication to the hospital’s mission, on both the local and the national level. 

The award was presented by Joseph M. Letnaunchyn, President and CEO of the West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA), at the WVHA CEO Forum.

The American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion Award was created to recognize those hospital leaders who most effectively educate elected officials on how major issues affect the hospital’s vital role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for the hospital, and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients.
