Sprout yeah! Upshur FFA to host greenhouse grand opening on May 3

Buckhannon-Upshur High School’s Future Farmers of America will host a community greenhouse grand opening on May 3, offering student-grown plants, family activities, and local vendor goods for sale.

Local Future Farmers of America (FFA) members at Buckhannon-Upshur High School are gearing up to welcome the community to their Greenhouse Grand Opening on Saturday, May 3, showcasing student-grown plants and a passion for agriculture.

Future Farmers of America (FFA) “is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education,” according to the National FFA website.

The grand opening of the Upshur FFA Greenhouse will welcome customers Saturday, May 3, 10am to 2pm. Customers can purchase annual and perennial flowers, vegetables, and bedding plants that have been grown by B-UHS students.

This is expected to be a lively, community event with free caricatures, baked goods, visits from Upshur County Ghost Busters, face painting, ceramic yard art, unique gifts and more fun activities available for plant enthusiasts of all ages.

Please note: cash is accepted by all vendors while the Upshur FFA Greenhouse accepts cash, card and checks made payable to BUHS.
