Saddle up for the United Way of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur counties’ annual elimination dinner: This year’s theme is ‘Country Western’

BUCKHANNON — Polish up your best pair of cowboy boots and saunter on over to Stonewall Resort in Lewis County for this year’s annual United Way of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur Counties’ Elimination Dinner.

The theme of this year’s event, slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, is Country Western.

A social gets underway at 6:30 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. and the drawing at 8 p.m. The cost is $35 per person and includes admission, one dinner and one chance to win all the prizes — there will be silent and live auctions, 50/50 raffles and much more.

Wondering what’s on the menu for this fundraiser straight out of the wild, wild West?

Stonewall Resort staff will be serving up greens with cucumber, tomato and shredded carrots; penne with grilled chicken breast; roasted cherry tomatoes and four-cheese alfredo; sliced roast beef with made-from-scratch gravy; broccoli cheddar casserole; potatoes o’brien; apple pie; and chocolate mint cake.
