BUCKHANNON — The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur volunteered at the Upshur County Schools’ first annual Wellness and Field Day at the Buckhannon-Upshur High School Stadium on Tuesday, May 17.

They assisted with timing the students during a variety of track events. Over 900 students in grades 3rd through 5th from nine elementary schools competed in nearly 12 events, winning points to earn the Upshur County Wellness Cup for the year. School officials said that the event promotes healthy living, good nutrition, physical fitness and mental health within the schools.

The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month with a presentation at each meeting. They are committed to providing service to others, promoting integrity and advancing goodwill and peace.
