PSA: Section of Barbour Street closed through Oct. 18

The Little Bucs rolled past Taylor County 36–6 and East Fairmont 48–6 to improve to 5–1. Kyler Baisden scored eight total touchdowns across the two wins as Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School continued to build momentum.

Buckhannon-Upshur served up 30 aces to sweep Fairmont Senior and Robert C. Byrd without dropping a set. The Lady Bucs improved to 20-9, continuing a late-season surge with seven wins in their last eight outings.

The Upshur County Commission approved a new part-time position for the home confinement program due to an increased caseload as the courts continue to utilize the alternative sentencing method. It can also help reduce the county’s jail bill.

B-UHS’s homecoming parade starts at 6 p.m. October 14, with lineup at 5 p.m. on Sedgwick Street and coronation at 7:30 p.m. at the Wesleyan chapel. The football game and dance follow October 16 and 17.

WVU’s equine studies program has a rebuilt 10-stall barn at the J.W. Ruby Research Farm, designed to support horse care and hands-on student learning.
