A Buckhannon man was arrested for allegedly taking a credit card number when a customer placed an order at his workplace — a local pizza shop — and then using it at an online betting site.
Dylan Streets, 27, of Buckhannon, was arrested for fraudulent use of an access device.
According to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s Office filed by Sgt. Theron Caynor with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, on June 25, 2025, the victim found charges on her bank account to the DraftKings online betting site that she and her husband had not made.
There were two charges to DraftKings, one for $100 and a second for $200. The victim contacted her bank and the credit card company, Visa.
“Visa started a fraud investigation that showed that the two charges to DraftKings were made to the account of defendant Dylan Streets,” Caynor wrote in the complaint. “The defendant worked at Sam’s Pizza, and the victim had given her card number to the restaurant to pay for a food order previously.”
Caynor interviewed Streets, who allegedly admitted that he took the credit card number at work and used it in his DraftKings account once to place a bet, according to the complaint.
“He stated that he felt bad about doing it and deleted the card number then from his account,” Caynor wrote.
Bail was set at $15,000 cash or surety by Upshur County Magistrate Alan Suder.
The potential penalty for fraudulent use of an access device is a fine of not more than $10,000, confinement in the penitentiary not more than 10 years, or both.
