Philippi man killed in ATV crash Friday

CHARLESTON — A Phillipi man was killed in an ATV wreck on Friday in Boone County, according to a press release from the West Virginia State Police.

“On Friday, March 29, 2024, S/Tpr. C. M. Riggleman, S/Tpr. M. R. Miller, and Tpr. M. S. Hall of the Madison and Whitesville Detachments responded to a single-vehicle ATV crash on Meadow Fork Road in the Hewett area of Boone County,” the release states. “The victim, 48-year-old Terry Stollings of Philippi, West Virginia, was transported to Boone Memorial Hospital in critical condition.  Shortly after arrival, the victim succumbed to the injuries sustained from the ATV crash.”

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the release.

“The victim was pronounced dead by medical staff and transported to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston for further examination,” the release says. “This Investigation remains active and ongoing.”
