Palmer Golf Course at Stonewall Resort to open March 22; marina to open April 1

Weston, W.Va. – Spring outdoor recreation season is kicking off at Stonewall Resort with the opening of the Palmer Golf Course on Friday, March 22 and the Marina on Monday, April 1.

“With the opening of the golf course and marina, day- and overnight guests have access to the full spectrum of outdoor activities we offer at Stonewall Resort,” said Andre’ D’Amour, resort general manager. “Given our recent ranking by U.S. News & World Report as having one of the top resorts in the state and earning an accolade from WV Living as having the state’s second-best golf course, we’re excited for guests to visit.”

D’Amour said the golf course has undergone significant renovations to its bunker system, specifically on Holes 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18. Additionally, the Pro Shop will offer a large variety of new merchandise to start the season. In 2023, the course added 65 new Club Car Golf Carts to its existing fleet, most of which feature onboard GPS units. Additionally, nearly a mile of cart paths were repaved.

Bikes, as well as “E-Bikes” can be rented through Fat Tire Cycle & Sport on the property. Guests also have access to much of the property to include the restaurants, golf course, marina and lake, spa, hiking and biking trails, and also the many events offered throughout the year.

Lightburn’s Restaurant, perched atop the highest point of the resort property and offering handmade courses crafted with the freshest, regionally sourced ingredients, will host a special grand re-opening event April 18 to showcase recent interior updates.  The restaurant will open for the season with regular hours on May 2.
