Buckhannon City Offices to Close for Labor Day – In observance of Labor Day, all City offices will be closed, including the Transfer Station, on Monday, September 4. 2023.  No waste collection will take place on Labor Day, meaning that all waste collection will be delayed by one day during the week of September 4 – 8, 2023.

Source Water Protection Public Meeting – 2:00 pm – The City of Buckhannon Water Department has scheduled a public meeting to discuss Source Water Protection.  The meeting will be held September 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in the Public Safety Complex Training Room located at 24 S. Florida Street, Buckhannon, WV 26201.  The meeting will be conducted by Jerry Myers, Chief Plant Operator for the Buckhannon Water Department.   All concerned citizens are welcome to attend.

Bulky Goods Collection, 5:30 AM – 6:00 AM – Bulky goods collection for large items such as couches, chairs, mattresses, appliances, etc. (All Buckhannon Waste Department customers are allowed 4 items per month, and 8 tires per year.)   You must call by Wednesday, September 6, 2023, to schedule a pick-up.  Items must be at the curb by 5:30 a.m. on the scheduled Friday to ensure pick-up.
