North Spring Street project update: North Spring Street, alley reopened

BUCKHANNON — In the category of “Great News,” the Buckhannon Sewer Department has reopened a part of North Spring Street (from Willard Way) so that customers can now access the recently reopened alley that serves the back parking lot for Chase Bank.

To access businesses such as Southern States, Family Dental, Whistle Stop Café, The Salvation Army, the Spring Street Parking lot, and the alley serving the back parking lot for Chase Bank, please continue to use Kanawha Street to Willard Way.

Bryan “Buck” Samples, Buckhannon’s Sewer Department Supervisor, spoke of the wonderful support that his department has received from the businesses affected by this project.

“While we have worked hard to be as considerate as possible to the North Spring Street business community, we know that we have caused some disruption to their customer base,” said Samples. He went on to say, “We have had wonderful cooperation and understanding from these business owners and appreciate their support as we work to rebuild the City’s infrastructure under North Spring Street!”

The City will continue to issue updates as this project continues.
