Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital donates nearly 1,000 pounds of food for Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility

WESTON, WV – Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital has recently donated nearly 1,000 pounds of food for animals at the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility during a fundraiser in July.

Hosted by the Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Wellness Committee, the hospital received contributions from employees as well as local businesses including Foster Feed, Shop N Save, and the Weston Branch of Freedom Ag and Energy.

“It is wonderful to have community support. When we get donations like this, we can spend more money on things to upgrade our facility and make it better for our animals,” said Jan Cochran, Manager of the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility.

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital was able to collect over 500 pounds of dog food, hundreds of pounds of cat and kitten food, as well as leashes, treats, blankets, cleaning supplies, and more for the animal shelter.
