Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Cookies & Cocoa Run winners announced; Snowball Run on January 7

WESTON, W.Va. – Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital held the fourth annual Cookies and Cocoa Run on Saturday, December 7 with eight participants. The top three places were Charlie Kirkpatrick in first, Owen Debar in second, and Dr. Matthew Malone in third.

The hospital will continue its series of walk/run events with a Snowball Walk/Run on Saturday, January 7 at 10 AM at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital located at 230 Hospital Plaza in Weston.

There is a $5 cost for the race and prizes are awarded to the top three winners. Race day registration will be available beginning at 9 AM. Call 304-517-8612 for more information or register at https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=287524.

The United States Surgeon General’s 2021 Step It Up! program promotes walking and walking communities noting that only about half of U.S. adults meet the minimum guidelines for aerobic physical activities. The program notes that half of U.S. adults are living with chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, or diabetes. Increasing physical activity will significantly reduce the risk of chronic diseases and other risk factors.

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is also hosting their annual Ground Hog Day Walk/Run on February 4, 2023 at 10 AM. Registration opens on January 8, 2023.
