Micrologic helps Barbour County community get connected

Micrologic was recently proposed by World Vision Renewable Energy to install fiber connection to the Chestnut Ridge Community Church. This new installation will now bring this rural property in Barbour County high-speed internet and wireless options.

Throughout the installation project, the Micrologic crew was able to run a 100 MBP fiber connection to all the buildings on the property, and installed fiber optic switches that will allow folks utilizing the building to wirelessly throughout the complex. After reaching an agreement with the property owners, the crew worked on installing everything for about a week. That included hooking up the network and putting the backhaul up, too.

Strong internet service was essential for the church that has been used as a community center and more so a safe place for the community’s youth.

“This new internet connection now opens up a bunch of opportunities for those who visit and utilize the center,” said Ruston Seaman, director of World Vision Renewable Energy. “We will now be able to offer telehealth services to our community, which is exciting since so many organizations and community members are leaning on virtual interactions.”

The mission of Seaman’s organization was created to help youth, re-energize the community and create solar energy sources.

Launching an E-Sport league is also currently in the works for the community center. Strong broadband also allows staff members to virtually invite instructors from all over the work to teach visiting youth.  Both of these endeavors would not be possible without the connection of quality internet.

The community center has several different areas that can appeal to kids’ different interests, including an arts and craft area, vocational development classroom and other subjects that can help with intellectual growth.

Micrologic is conveniently located in North Central West Virginia at 1020 Old Elkins Road in Buckhannon. Services offered by the company include but are not limited to the service and installation of high-speed internet, security, digital phone, and data networking for both residential and commercial clients.
