Marilyn H. Currence

Marilyn H. Currence, age 83, of Buckhannon, died Friday, February 7, 2025, at Mountain Memories in Elkins, WV. She was born on March 10, 1941, in Randolph County, WV, a daughter of the late Harold O. and Emily Lee Scott Haney.

On September 17, 1962, she was united in marriage to Clyde D. Currence, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Melanie Currence Reger and husband Joe and Lisa Holsey and husband Jay, both of Buckhannon; three grandchildren: Tyler Critchfield and wife Dami of Morgantown, Aaron Critchfield and wife Lisa of Buckhannon, and Haley Hoover of Buckhannon; three great grandchildren: Ari, Romee, and Callum Critchfield; and one brother Larry Haney and wife Mary Ellen of Buckhannon.

Marilyn was a teacher’s aide in the Upshur County public schools for many years. She enjoyed cross-stitch, flowers and traveling to her favorite vacation spot—Myrtle Beach, SC. Her home was especially welcoming to all during the holidays when she prepared an abundance of food for her family.

The family will receive friends at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 12:00-12:30 PM—the funeral hour, with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hemlock.

Online condolences may be extended to the Currence family at www.heavnerandcutright.com. The Currence family entrusted the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel with the arrangements.
