Local artist sprucing up North Spring Street with Whistle Stop mural

BUCKHANNON – Artist Sheri Gaudet has provided another lovely mural for the Buckhannon-Upshur community to enjoy.

Gaudet has been working on a new mural on the side of the Whistle Stop Bar and Grill.

“It’s going to be a big train, and then I’ll do arched wording that says, ‘Whistle Stop,’” Gaudet said. “I think they want to make it look like a postcard.”

“I don’t know what they want to do with the background yet; they’re not sure, but I think a nice pretty sky or something like that would really pop out,” she added.

Gaudet started the project Sept. 13 and hopes to complete it within a week or so, weather permitting.

“You can always catch me at Chapel Hill Church anytime. I’m still working on a lot of stuff there,” Gaudet said. “I’m still doing the nursery with all zoo animals, and then I added seven new kids to the kids’ room — all the kids that go there are on the wall — so it’s Jesus and the children and I still have a lot to do.”
