Lady ‘Cat golfers finish fourth at MEC Tournament; Toole earns all-conference honors

WARREN, Ohio — The West Virginia Wesleyan women’s golf team finished fourth overall at the Mountain East Conference Tournament at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio. 

Kiana Toole finished in a tie for fifth place and was named to the MEC All-Tournament team.
 
Toole totaled 247 strokes in the three-round tournament. The Aussie scored par in 30 of 54 holes played. Toole’s first-round score was 79 strokes, good for the second-lowest day one total.
 
Carleigh Bolyard turned in three rounds below 90 strokes and placed 13th overall. Bolyard sank two birdies in her second round and totaled 259 strokes. 

Remmey Lohr concluded her first MEC Tournament in a tie for 18th place with a cumulative score of 262.

Rounding out the scoring for Wesleyan was Emma Bryan with a 284 and Geneva Brown who shot 219 in the first two rounds.
 
The Wesleyan women’s golf squad will return to the links on Oct. 23 for the Shriners Hospital for Kids Invitational at Green Hills Country Club in Ravenswood, W.Va.
