Lady Bobcat golfers win Wally Edgell Invitational; Bolyard low medalist for WVWC

DAVIS — The West Virginia Wesleyan women’s golf team won the two-day Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational on Tuesday at the Canaan Valley Resort. The Lady Bobcats edged out Davis & Elkins by 40 strokes to win the event.

Senior Carleigh Bolyard received low medalist honors for the event after shooting a 152 in 36 holes.
 
On Monday, Bolyard shot a 77 in her first round. Bolyard made par on 10 holes and sank two birdies in her first round. The senior from Parsons, W.Va., closed her tournament with 75 strokes on Tuesday. Her second-round performance included 10 pars and three birdies to seal medalist honors.
 
Kiana Toole made four birdies in her final round of the event. She shot a 72 in the second round and placed fourth.

Remmey Lohr fired another strong performance for the Lady Bobcats. She shot an 82 in round one and a 78 in round two. Emma Bryan placed 11th and drained three birdies throughout the tournament.
 
The WVWC women’s golf team will be back in action Sept. 29-30 for the Concord Invite in Pipestem, W.Va.
