West Virginia Wesleyan closed its Carolina swing with a sweep of Shaw, as the men rolled 7-0 and the women won 5-2. The Bobcats vaulted into the ITA Top 50, with the men at No. 39 and the women at No. 46—Wesleyan’s first women’s ranking since 2010.
Capital University pulled away from Wesleyan in Saturday’s home opener, rolling to an 18–5 win behind Leah Leno’s six goals and four assists. The Lady Bobcats showed early fight, but were held to one shot after halftime as Capital outshot Wesleyan 33–10.
West Virginia Wesleyan softball battled in four tight matchups at the Space Coast Tournament but ended spring break with four straight losses. The Bobcats fell 3–2 on a seventh-inning walk-off to Cedarville, 5–1 to Mary, 15–11 to Minnesota Crookston, and 3–0 to Bridgeport.

West Virginia Wesleyan went punch-for-punch with Frostburg State in a fast-paced MEC Tournament quarterfinal, with five ties and seven lead changes at WesBanco Arena. But a late fourth-quarter Frostburg surge sealed a 77–71 upset and ended the Lady Bobcats’ postseason run.
Two people were arrested after deputies responded to a reported domestic incident in Upshur County. A four-year-old child was found locked in an unsanitary room, according to a criminal complaint.
