Lacrosse Bucs fall late to John Marshall, 12-11

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur boy’s lacrosse team let one get away from against the John Marshall Monarchs Saturday night at Freal “Red” Crites Memorial Stadium.

The Bucs led 9-7 going into the final quarter but couldn’t maintain the lead dropping a 12-11 decision.

Buckhannon-Upshur led 3-2 after one quarter and owned a 5-4 advantage at the break.

Tucker Hatfield led the Buckhannon-Upshur offense with four goals and two assists.

Kaleb Roby picked up three goals to go along with one assist while Nathan Smith added two goals and three assists while Justin Streets had one goal and two assists with Easton Rice scoring the other goal for the Bucs.

John Marshall had 34 shots-on-goal while the Bucs amassed 23.

B-U keeper Remmy Bonnett made 22 saves.

The loss dropped the Bucs to 0-2 on the season.

They will be back in action Thursday on the road at St. Albans. The game will start at 7 p.m.
