JV Lady Bucs lose 54-35 decision to Philip Barbour

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs fell behind early and was never able to recover in a 54-35 loss to the Philip Barbour Colts.

The Lady Bucs trailed after one quarter by a 19-10 score and went on to fall by 19.

Taylor Feather had five points in that first quarter for the Lady Bucs while Kylie Hull added three and Makenzie Egress two.

B-U dropped the second quarter by a 9-7 margin with Feather scoring four points and Martina Moto dropping in a three-pointer.

That left the Lady Bucs down by a 28-17 score at the half.

Buckhannon-Upshur was edged in the third quarter by just a 9-8 score with Moto and Feather scoring three points each with Egress dropping in two free throws.

B-U trailed going into the final eight minutes by a 37-25 count.

The final quarter went to Philip Barbour by a 17-10 score with Hull putting in five points, Moto three and Egress two.

Olivia Wilmoth had a game-high 19 points for Philip Barbour while Stefanie Barker added 14.

Feather paced the B-U offense with 12 points while Moto added nine.

B-U fell to 0-10 on the season.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Thursday hosting Bridgeport at 5:45 p.m.
